The object of this edition is to acquaint the young visitors of the British Museum with its Cypriot antiquities housed in its rooms. The leading characters in the story are a beautiful Tanagra girl and a cla]y man. They escape from their showcase and return to Cyprus after a host of adventures. There, on Mount Troodos, they meet an elf in the guise of a lion, and find themselves in a magic wood filled with brightly coloured flowers. As the story develops, the two heroes find themselves in need of help and the young readers become part of it.
